Elegant, understated and exceptionally versatile, the Lady Clare Black Screened Round Placemats bring classic English style to both traditional and contemporary table settings.
The rich solid black finish creates a sophisticated foundation for fine china, glassware and decorative table linens, while the elegant hand-gilded edges add a subtle touch of gold. The timeless combination of black and gold makes these Round Placemats equally suited to everyday dining, dinner parties and formal entertaining.
Part of the Lady Clare Screened Collection, these placemats are particularly versatile because their simple design complements both patterned and solid-color dinnerware without competing with it.
Since 1932, Lady Clare has been creating fine English lacquered placemats, tablemats, coasters and decorative home accessories. The Black Screened Collection continues that tradition with its combination of timeless design, practical durability and British craftsmanship.
The hard-wearing lacquered surface is heat resistant to 150°C / 300°F, while the soft green felt/flock backing helps protect tables and fine furniture.
Measuring approximately 11 inches in diameter, these Round Placemats provide an elegant foundation for individual place settings while offering a distinctive alternative to traditional rectangular placemats. Their round shape is particularly attractive on round dining tables, breakfast tables and smaller dining spaces.
Their classic black finish makes them equally at home in a formal dining room, English country house, traditional interior or sophisticated contemporary home.
Pair them with white or ivory china for a striking monochromatic setting, richly patterned dinnerware for a more traditional table, or gold-toned flatware and accessories for an elegant black-and-gold presentation.
Pair them with coordinating Lady Clare Black Screened Round Coasters and Round Tablemats to create a complete table setting.
