Bring the beauty of classic botanical illustration to your home with the Lady Clare Hooker Fruit Coasters. This elegant boxed set of six features six different fruit designs, beautifully presented against a rich Bottle Green painted background and finished with traditional hand-gilded edges.
The Hooker Fruit Collection draws inspiration from the great tradition of British botanical and natural history illustration, when artists and botanists documented fruits, flowers and plants in extraordinary detail. These beautifully rendered botanical images were created not only for scientific study but also became admired as works of art in their own right.
Fruit has long been a favorite subject of botanical artists. The rich colors and varied forms of apples, pears, berries and other fruits provided artists with an opportunity to combine careful observation of nature with beautiful composition and color.
Botanical prints eventually became a familiar decorative element in English Country Houses, country cottages, libraries and traditional interiors, making the Hooker Fruit Collection particularly well suited to both classic and contemporary homes.
Lady Clare’s Hooker Fruit Collection celebrates this tradition with six different fruit designs. The colorful botanical artwork stands out beautifully against the deep Bottle Green painted background, while elegant hand-gilded edges provide the refined finishing touch associated with Lady Clare’s Traditional Collection.
Since 1932, Lady Clare has been known for creating fine English lacquered placemats, coasters and decorative home accessories. Made in Great Britain, these Hooker Fruit Coasters combine classic botanical imagery with the traditional craftsmanship and timeless British styling for which Lady Clare is renowned.
The hard-wearing lacquered surface is heat resistant to 150°C (300°F), making the coasters both decorative and practical. Lady Clare’s distinctive curved edges help reduce damage during use and prolong the life of the coasters, while the soft green felt backing helps protect the furniture beneath.
Measuring approximately 4.25 × 3.5 inches, they are ideal for wine glasses, cocktails, coffee, tea and everyday drinks.
Their classic botanical character makes the Lady Clare Hooker Fruit Coasters especially attractive in an English Country House, country cottage, traditional kitchen, dining room, library, garden room or conservatory.
Presented in a gift box, they also make a distinctive gift for a gardener, botanical art enthusiast, fruit lover, natural history collector or anyone who appreciates traditional English country style.
Pair them with coordinating Lady Clare Hooker Fruit Placemats and Tablemats to create an elegant collection inspired by botanical art and the natural world.
